Alex Condon

Born in Australia, Alex Condon was raised by professional athletes. His mother was a swimmer and represented the Australian national team, and his father was a professional rugby player. Condon also played rugby and was considered a top prospect for the AFL draft before focusing on basketball by joining the BA Centre of Excellence, which partners with the NBA Global Academy. Condon appeared in 23 games across two seasons in college for the Florida Gators and averaged 11.4 points and 8.8 rebounds during the 2023 campaign. After being named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2024, Condon emerged as a star during his sophomore campaign, averaging 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 blocks and 0.9 steals. He won three SEC Player of the Week awards, was named Third-Team All-SEC and won a national championship as the Gators finished 36-4 after defeating Houston in the final game. Condon is at his best when attacking the rim as a roller or cutter and can finish with authority or finesse with either hand. His post-up package is basic, but he doesn't waste movements and gets to his spots. Condon utilities fakes well, doesn't try to do too much when something isn't there and will find the open guy when defenses collapse. He improved as a three-point shooter in college, but his jumper is still a work in progress. Defensively, Condon is elite and can guard an array of positions, though his rim-protecting ability is likely his most NBA-ready trait. Condon is shorter and lighter than Donovan Clingan (7'2, 282), but they both dominated defensively in college. Moritz Wagner (6'11, 245) is closer in size, but Condon is a better defender while Wagner is more skilled offensively. Ideally, Condon can improve on both ends of the court and impact the game like Isaiah Hartenstein (7'0, 249).
