2024 Fantasy Outlook
Knecht's three-level scoring at Tennessee was on full display in 2023-24 and propelled him up draft boards. The Lakers used the No. 17 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on Knecht, who's projected to compete for rotation minutes as a rookie. Los Angeles is essentially running it back with LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the helm. However, depth was a major concern last season, opening up an opportunity for Knecht. Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and D'Angelo Russell should round out the starting five on Opening Night, and Gabe Vincent and Jarred Vanderbilt should have reserve roles after missing most of last season. That leaves Knecht to compete with Cam Reddish, Max Christie and fellow rookie Bronny James for second-unit wing minutes. Read Past Outlooks

Season ends following Game 5 loss
Knecht averaged 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 made threes in 19.2 minutes over 78 appearances during the 2024-25 regular season.
ANALYSIS
Knecht experienced a turbulent rookie campaign that saw him traded from the Lakers to the Hornets in February, only for the deal to later fall through. He averaged 8.1 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field and 40.3 percent from downtown in 32 regular-season games after the failed trade, with his production really falling off starting in mid-March. Knecht saw the court for four total minutes during the Lakers' first-round series loss to the T-Wolves, finishing the year firmly rooted in a bench role.

To play in Summer League
Knecht will play in the Summer League as he looks to expand his game beyond being simply a three-point shooter, Khobi Price of the Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
"Just showing what I can do," Knecht said. "Feel like I kind of showed a little bit throughout my rookie year, but just keep building on top of that." Knecht showed plenty of promise during his rookie year, appearing in 78 regular-season games with averages of 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 three-pointers in 19.2 minutes per game. A strong showing in the Summer League could set him up for a solid role off the bench in his second NBA season.
