Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
David Duke Jr. was born in 1999 in Providence, Rhode Island. He has two brothers and is the son of David and Sharon Duke. He attended Classical High School in Providence and as a junior led the school to a Division 1 state title. Duke then transferred to Cushing Academy in Massachusetts, where he won a NEPSAC Class AA title. The guard then committed to play ball at Providence College and majored in management. In his first season, Duke shared Big East Freshman of the Year honors with Jahvon Quinerly. As a junior, Duke averaged 16.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 dimes per game and was named to the Second Team All-Big East squad. The guard then declared for the NBA Draft. Duke was not selected in the 2021 NBA Draft, but signed a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets in August of 2021. His favorite food is steak with mashed potatoes.
ANALYSIS Duke averaged 3.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 9.9 minutes across 23 appearances for the Nets in 2022-23. The 23-year-old will look to make enough of an impression in training camp to earn a two-way deal with the 76ers, but even if he falls short in his bid, Philadelphia would retain Duke's G League rights.

ANALYSIS Playing in his third consecutive Summer League with the Nets, Duke is valuable to the organization because he's familiar with the system and style the Nets operate with. In addition to being a stabilizing veteran on the Summer League roster, the 24-year-old showed off his foul-drawing prowess by earning 6.4 free-throw attempts per game. Duke continues to exist as a defensive-minded, fringe NBA wing.
