Coming off his best season as a professional, Eubanks signed a two-year deal with the Suns during the offseason. With Jock Landale now in Houston, Eubanks should have a clear path to backup minutes, playing behind Deandre Ayton. He closed the 2022-23 season as the 153rd-ranked player in standard leagues, averaging 6.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. Although he doesn't offer a ton of versatility on the offensive end, he is a strong rebounder who can protect the rim with athleticism. Ayton is known for his mood swings, something that could afford Eubanks some additional playing time throughout the season. He is not someone managers need to prioritize outside of deeper formats, but should he carve out a larger role than expected, he could have some limited streaming value in 12-team leagues. $Signed a one-year, $2.35 million contract with the Suns in July of 2023. Contract includes $2.65 million player option for 2024-24.
Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Eubanks was born in Starkville, Mississippi. He lived in Mississippi until his family moved to Oregon when he was two years old. Eubanks was primarily interested in baseball while growing up. He gained attention for his skills on the pitching mound and did not start playing basketball seriously until he was 14. Eubanks attended Reynolds High School in Troutdale, Oregon. In his senior year, he posted per-game averages of 16.7 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.2 blocks. Learn more about Eubanks by following him on Twitter (@DrewEubanks12) and Instagram (@drewdatower). Eubanks finished eighth in the nation as well as fourth in the Pac-12 in field-goal percentage (.624) in the 2017-18 season, his final year in college. He tallied the fourth-most blocks (69) in the Pac-12 as a sophomore, and he followed that accomplishment up by recording the fifth-most rejections (55) in the conference during his junior season. Along with the aforementioned stats, the Troutdale, Oregon native led Oregon State in two-point baskets made (164), two-point percentage (.624), two-point baskets per game (5.1), two-point attempts per game (8.2) and blocks per game (1.7) as a third-year player. Eubanks declared for the 2018 NBA Draft after his junior year, but he went undrafted. He signed with the San Antonio Spurs in the summer of 2018.
ANALYSIS Eubanks started 28 of his 78 appearances for Portland last year, averaging 6.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks in 20.3 minutes per game. The Suns pulled Jock Landale's qualifying offer, so Eubanks will have a clear path to consistent playing time behind Deandre Ayton next season, though the Suns will presumably add a few more depth pieces to their frontcourt before the summer is over.

Tre Jones has been one of the Spurs' key players down the stretch and should play a significant role again Saturday in a slate that will feature numerous players sitting.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Underrated commodity
CPhoenix Suns
September 23, 2023
Eubanks was an excellent enabler of pick-and-roll action in Portland last season, posting 1.27 team points per possession when screening for Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons.
ANALYSIS Eubanks' efficiency easily exceeded the league-wide average of 1.004 points per possession in pick-and-roll sets. The Suns' frontcourt rotation would be shaken up considerably if Ayton is dealt, but Eubanks' incumbent presence is worth noting. The 26-year-old's proficiency as a screener bodes well for roster chemistry with Bradley Beal and Devin Booker. Eubanks averaged 8.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 blocks per game in 28 starts last season.
Arguably one of the best waiver wire pickups to end last season, Eubanks again finds himself slated to be a backup option behind Jusuf Nurkic. With Nurkic going down with an injury down the stretch, Eubanks stepped into a much larger role, putting up great fantasy value over the final 16 games thanks to averages of 16.9 points and 8.8 rebounds. However, barring another injury to Nurkic, Eubanks will only see backup minutes per night out of the gate. Across the entire 2021-22 season, Eubanks averaged 17.5 minutes per game, ending outside the top 250. This is where managers should view him now, making him a viable asset in deeper formats only.
Eubanks' third year in the league was nothing special, but the 6-foot-9 center did show signs of improvement as the season progressed. The Oregon State product missed 13 games early due to COVID protocols but finished the season averaging 5.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 14.0 minutes per game. This season, Eubanks figures to be the backup center for Jakob Poeltl once again, but the team's lack of depth at the position makes the 24-year-old an interesting fantasy option. The Spurs signed Zach Collins in the offseason, but after re-fracturing his foot in June, it is unclear when he will be ready to return to the court. With Collins out, the only three true centers on the team are Poetl, Eubanks, and Jock Landale. In fact, Eubanks has proved he can be a solid contributor when given minutes. In the third-year-pro's nine appearances where he saw over 20 minutes a game, Eubanks averaged 9.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks. While it will still be hard for him to find that type of playing time regularly, if something happened to the Spurs' rotation that would force Eubanks to see the court more, he could very well be a serviceable fantasy option in deep leagues this year.
