2025 Fantasy Outlook
This summer, the Celtics drafted Gonzalez with the 28th overall pick. The 19-year-old spent the 2024-25 season with Real Madrid and had trouble receiving consistent playing time on what was a veteran-laden squad. The 6-foot-6 slashing Spaniard is an athletic wing with the potential to also play point guard. He's joining Boston at the right time. After multiple all-in seasons, the Celtics need to treat 2025-26 as a bridge season towards 2026-27 and the return of injured star Jayson Tatum (Achilles). That means they need to develop talent, escape the second apron and maintain roster flexibility. With the departure of both Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, plus the absence of Tatum, there are plenty of available minutes in Boston. If the C's are serious about their plans to develop Gonzalez, they would be wise to let him play more than the 10 minutes per contest he received with Real Madrid. Unfortunately, much of that playing time may occur with the Maine Celtics of the G League. We'll see. Read Past Outlooks

Latest Fantasy Rumors
G League stint unlikely
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said Saturday that a G League stint for Gonzalez is unlikely, Brian Robb of Masslive.com.
ANALYSIS
"He just came into the season with an open mind through training camp and preseason, and I think he showed and proved, one through his work ethic, his maturity, but really his defensive instincts, that he could play at this level," Mazzulla said. "And so I think that's more valuable than anything at this particular time. We'll assess it as it goes on but he's proven he can play and can impact winning. He's got to get better at continuing to do that." The rookie has appeared in 11 of Boston's 13 games for an average of 12.4 minutes per night, but it certainly sounds like Mazzulla could lean on him more going forward.
