Hunter Sallis

A five-star recruit and Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year, Hunter Sallis led his high school, Millard North, to its first Class A state title in 2021 while finishing with the third-most points in Class A history (1,819). He was named to the McDonald's All-American Game, Jordan Brand Classic and Nike Hoop Summit. Starting his collegiate career at Gonzaga in 2021-22, Sallis came off the bench for all but two games during his freshman and sophomore campaigns. He then transferred to Wake Forest as a junior, where he broke out. Starting all 34 appearances, Sallis averaged 18.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 35.4 minutes. He was named to the ACC All-First Team. Again named to First Team as a senior, he produced 18.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 35.9 minutes. Sallis has developed into a strong on-ball playmaker and finisher during his collegiate career, improving his handle, vision, dexterity and strength. His 3-point shot is the part of his offensive repertoire that remains the most up-and-down, but he's trended positively over the years, and his free-throw percentage increased every season with more attempts. Sallis showed off defensive upside on the perimeter as well, with quick feet and hands, plus a long wingspan. Two points that may determine Sallis' role in the NBA are his 3-point shot and how much a team lets him run offense - something he did often at Wake Forest. Either way, Sallis should be a strong defender and excellent in transition. He has similarities in his size and style to players like Christian Braun, Andrew Wiggins, early-career DeMar DeRozan and Richard Jefferson.
