Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Jabari Dominic Walker was born in July of 2002 in Wichita, Kansas. Walker is the son of Jo Dudley and Samaki Walker. His father, Samaki, played for five NBA teams over a 10-year pro career. Jabari has a brother and sister who have also played college ball. Walker played his first three years of high school basketball at Campbell Hall School in Los Angeles. For his senior year, he transferred to AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona. As a four-star recruit in 2020, Walker committed to the University of Colorado, where he played for two seasons and studied Communications. After averaging 7.6 points and 4.3 rebounds over 14.2 minutes per game, Walker was named to the 2020-21 Pac-12 Conference All Freshman Team. As a sophomore in 2021-22, Walker started all 33 games and delivered 14.6 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.1 three-pointers over 28.1 minutes per contest. That production led to Walker being named to the All-Pac-12 First Team. He then declared himself eligible for the 2022 NBA Draft where he was selected with the 57th overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers. Fans can follow the forward on Twitter via @jabari521.
Supplies 15 points from bench
FPortland Trail Blazers
March 24, 2024
Walker had 15 points (6-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds and one steal in 26 minutes during Saturday's 114-111 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS The door was open for Walker to produce with a slew of starters on the sidelines. The Colorado product figures to be a key part of Portland's rebuild as it takes stock of the value remaining on the roster, and Walker's increased role this season is an encouraging sign for his future with the team. As the 2023-24 campaign winds down, Walker is a likely candidate for increased production.

Deeply ingrained shooting struggles
FPortland Trail Blazers
March 5, 2024
Walker has connected on just 26.2 percent of 111 catch-and-shoot threes this season.
ANALYSIS Among players with at least 100 such attempts, only Russell Westbrook, who is currently out with a fractured hand, is less efficient than Walker. The 21-year-old's shot diet mostly consists of putbacks and attempts around the basket, as even unguarded three-point attempts are yielding a lowly 24.3 percent clip.
