Jabari Dominic Walker was born in July of 2002 in Wichita, Kansas. Walker is the son of Jo Dudley and Samaki Walker. His father, Samaki, played for five NBA teams over a 10-year pro career. Jabari has a brother and sister who have also played college ball. Walker played his first three years of high school basketball at Campbell Hall School in Los Angeles. For his senior year, he transferred to AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona. As a four-star recruit in 2020, Walker committed to the University of Colorado, where he played for two seasons and studied Communications. After averaging 7.6 points and 4.3 rebounds over 14.2 minutes per game, Walker was named to the 2020-21 Pac-12 Conference All Freshman Team. As a sophomore in 2021-22, Walker started all 33 games and delivered 14.6 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.1 three-pointers over 28.1 minutes per contest. That production led to Walker being named to the All-Pac-12 First Team.
