2025 Fantasy Outlook
Back in Chicago for a second straight season, Smith is set to operate behind Nikola Vucevic and Zach Collins in 2025-26. Last season, Smith attempted a career high 3.5 three-pointers per game and shot 32.4 percent. It appears 2023-24 was an outlier from beyond the arc for the big man, as he shot 42.2 percent on 2.4 tries a night. Smith has made at least 60 regular-season appearances and played 15 minutes per game in three consecutive campaigns, so Smith should have a solid reserve role this offseason. However, a big man who doesn't block shots at a high rate and shoots below 50 percent won't provide strong fantasy returns, regardless of how many minutes they play. Read Past Outlooks
Strong bench output in win
Smith provided 16 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 17 minutes during Saturday's 110-98 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Smith was one of four Bulls reserves to score in double figures, helping spark the team to victory. The Maryland product is in his second season with Chicago and has carved out a dependable role as frontcourt depth, averaging 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in 15.0 minutes across 64 regular-season games (two starts) in 2024-25. While this level of scoring shouldn't be expected consistently, it's a positive sign for the big man, who reached or surpassed 16 points just twice last season.

Following decent showings in Phoenix and Indiana, Smith signed with the Bulls during the offseason where he will likely assume the role of backup center behind Nikola Vucevic. Smith played 61 games for the Pacers during the 2023-24 season, averaging 9.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.6 blocks and 1.0 three-pointers in 17.2 minutes per game. Smith supposedly chose Chicago due to the fact he thought he could push for a starting position. While this would take either a Vucevic trade or demotion, it is a situation that could prove fruitful. Having traded away DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso, it appears the Bulls are finally ready to tear things down. If that is indeed the case, Vucevic could be on the move at some point, allowing Smith to step into a larger role. For now, Smith should be viewed as a possible last-round target, at best. Should circumstances change at any point, he could become a sneaky pickup, even in standard formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Should play regularly off bench
Smith is considered to be a "lock" to see steady minutes off the bench for the Bulls in 2024-25, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Johnson believes a lineup of Josh Giddey, Coby White, Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams and Nikola Vucevic is the "most logical" outcome for the starting five, but Smith should see steady minutes off the bench as the main frontcourt backup. The Bulls are not very deep in terms of frontcourt depth, which should lead Smith to see consistent minutes even if he doesn't start regularly. The 24-year-old big man appeared in 61 regular-season games in 2023-24 and averaged a career-high 9.9 points along with 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 17.2 minutes per contest.
