2025 Fantasy Outlook
The No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Walker was more involved during his sophomore campaign than he was as a rookie, making 75 regular-season appearances (five starts) and averaging 15.8 minutes per game. However, the overall production was still lackluster. Last season, the Pacers were one of the deepest teams in the league and could beat you in numerous ways with multiple different players leading the charge. They got hot at the right time and parlayed a couple of insane comeback wins into a trip to the NBA Finals, which ultimately ended on a sour note with Tyrese Haliburton tearing his Achilles during the first quarter of the Game 7 loss. Haliburton will likely miss the entire 2025-26 campaign, and the injury also played a part in Myles Turner leaving Indiana to sign with Milwaukee in free agency this summer. With those two out of the mix, there will be a ton of usage available. Pascal Siakam should lead the charge, with Andrew Nembhard and Aaron Nesmith also seeing increased responsibilities, but the Pacers will need at least one player to take a huge leap. Walker is among a group of candidates that include Bennedict Mathurin, Ben Sheppard, Obi Toppin, Kam Jones and Jay Huff. In his limited action, Walker has operated mainly as a 3-and-D wing player, so his upside is still a question mark. Regardless, if his game doesn't evolve but he makes 40 percent from deep again while playing 25-plus minutes, Walker could easily deliver top-150 value. Read Past Outlooks

Recovered from ankle injury
Walker (ankle) focused on his conditioning this offseason, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker suffered an ankle injury during last season's Eastern Conference Finals and missed the entire Pacers NBA Finals run, but all signs point toward him being good to go ahead of the new campaign. With Myles Turner now in Milwaukee, the Pacers are hoping that Walker will step up to help pick up the slack in the frontcourt. Walker made nine regular-season appearances with Turner unavailable for Indiana in 2024-25, and the former averaged 8.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 20.9 minutes per game in those instances.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
The No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Walker made only 33 regular-season appearances as a rookie and averaged 10.3 minutes per game. The mid-season addition of Pascal Siakam made it difficult for Walker to crack the rotation, and that's not expected to change this season. The Pacers made a surprising run to the Eastern Conference Finals and are essentially running it back with the same frontcourt rotation - Pascal Siakam, Myles Turner and Aaron Nesmith as starters with Obi Toppin, Isaiah Jackson and Walker as backups. Plus, Bennedict Mathurin is expected to be healthy. There isn't much room for Walker, who'll have to show significant improvements to see more playing time. Given his expected role to open the campaign, there's no reason to draft Walker in standard leagues. However, he has a high enough upside to monitor in deeper leagues and should be targeted if he ever sees 25-plus minutes regularly.

Carlisle talks him up
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Thursday that he's expecting Walker to step it up this season, Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
"It's difficult being a top-10 pick," Carlisle said. "You feel like you're supposed to go in there and be an impact guy. In our situation, his position was pretty crowded, so it took time. But he's learned and he's worked extremely hard and he's positioned himself to be a major factor on this team." Walker missed the NBA Finals due to a sprained ankle, but the third-year forward is aiming to carve out a much larger role this time around with Myles Turner now in Milwaukee and Tyrese Haliburton sidelined with an Achilles tear.
