Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Mintz grew up in Fort Washington, Md., and began his high school basketball career at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. Ahead of his senior year, he transferred to powerhouse Oak Hill in Virginia. At Oak Hill, Mintz earned Second Team All-National Interscholastic Basketball Conference honors and graduated as a four-star recruit. Mintz initially committed to Pittsburgh before de-comitting and ultimately landing at Syracuse. As a freshman, he averaged 16.3 points, 4.6 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals across 32 starts and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. In 2023-24, the 6-foot-4 guard averaged 18.8 points, 4.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 32 games, en route to being selected to the All-ACC Second Team. At 6-foot-4, Mintz has the size and athleticism to finish strong at the rim and earn easy trips to the free-throw line. As a primary ball-handler, he can create shots for himself and leverage his scoring gravity to generate open looks for teammates. Defensively, Mintz is adept at forcing turnovers and running out in transition. Mintz's game has shades of Terry Rozier and Ayo Dosunmu due to his ability to generate his shot and get to the free-throw line while also being able to force turnovers out of opponents on the perimeter. At the next level, Mintz profiles as a combo guard who can provide a scoring punch for second units.

ANALYSIS
Mintz spent Summer League and training camp with the 76ers but didn't have his Exhibit 10 contract converted to a standard deal for the regular season. Instead, he'll likely spend the 2024-25 campaign in the G League with 76ers' affiliate Delaware Blue Coats.
