2024 Fantasy Outlook
In 2023-24, Towns made at least two three-pointers per game for a fourth straight season and shot over 40 percent from deep for the fifth time in his career. It was a solid bounce-back season for the talented big man after he played in a career-low 29 games the year prior. However, after finishing inside the top 10 in eight-category leagues in each of his first four campaigns, Towns has finished inside the top 25 only once over the past five seasons, including a 47th-place finish last year. However, Towns' outlook looks different after a surprising trade to New York right before training camp. With Isaiah Hartenstein in OKC and Mitchell Robinson nursing another injury, Towns will be the Knicks' starting center. When Towns was an elite fantasy producer, he was primarily a center and under the tutelage of Tom Thibodeau, so the move is intriguing. From 2016-2019, when Thibodeau was the Timberwolves' head coach, Towns averaged 24.3 points, 12.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks with 53/40/84 shooting splits. Nonetheless, Jalen Brunson remains the Knicks' top offensive option, while Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart will also play heavy minutes and rack up stats quickly. Towns returning to elite fantasy production isn't guaranteed, but he's in a better position than the past two campaigns. Read Past Outlooks

Closes with another double-double
Towns chipped in 22 points (8-19 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-10 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Saturday's 125-108 loss to the Pacers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
ANALYSIS
Towns ended what was a successful first season in New York, tabling his fourth straight double-double. Despite battling a knee concern, Towns left it all on the court Saturday, doing everything he could to try and get the Knicks over the line. Although the result was not what Knicks fans would have been hoping for, the Towns experiment was certainly a positive. Across 72 regular-season games, he put up averages of 24.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in 35.0 minutes per contest.

Towns averaged double-doubles in the first six years of his career, but he's fallen short of the mark in back-to-back seasons. His decline in production was explainable last season since the Timberwolves acquired another frontcourt stalwart in Rudy Gobert ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. However, the full measure of Gobert's impact on Towns' production remained somewhat murky, as injuries limited Towns to 29 games. With Gobert in the fold, Towns averaged a career-low 8.1 rebounds per game along with 20.8 points per game, his lowest mark since his rookie season. However, he had a career-best 4.8 assists per game and remained among the elite fantasy centers when healthy. Part of Towns' fantasy appeal comes from his success from beyond the arc, as he led all centers with 5.7 three-point attempts per game last season and finished second with 2.1 makes per contest from beyond the arc. The 27-year-old appeared in all 82 games in each of his first three NBA seasons, but health has become a more significant concern in recent years, as he's played 50 or fewer games in three of the past four seasons. The Timberwolves had a relatively quiet offseason, so Towns won't have any new significant competition for production on the team besides the emerging Anthony Edwards. Towns' three-point prowess makes him a unique fantasy option at center. However, after another injury-plagued season, one of Towns' biggest question marks heading into the 2023-24 campaign is whether he'll be able to stay on the court.

Game-time call for Game 5
Towns is expected to be a game-time call for Game 5 against the Pacers on Thursday due to a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Towns fell to the court in pain while grabbing his left knee after a collision with Aaron Nesmith with 2:11 left to play in Game 4, and while he stayed in the game, it's clear he's not 100 percent healthy from that knock. Losing Towns would be huge for the Knicks, as he's been the team's most consistent performer in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks are down 3-1 in the series.
