2024 Fantasy Outlook
George started his rookie campaign slowly as most rookies do, but he was thrust into some serious action over the final months. Despite playing limited minutes through the opening three months, George averaged 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 0.5 steals and 2.0 threes across 27.0 minutes a night. He was even better from February on, averaging 15.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.5 steals and 2.4 threes across 30.7 minutes in his final 32 games. That was mainly due to a bump in responsibility because Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen were all out for most of that stretch. The good news is that the Jazz didn't bring in any point guards in the offseason, so George should be locked into 30-35 minutes as Utah's starting point guard. There's also a chance Utah's roster looks different by the end of the season, though Markkanen is ineligible to be traded after signing a massive extension this offseason. If there's one thing this kid needs to work on, it's his efficiency. George shot 39 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point range, showcasing some nightmarish shooting nights. Those are inevitable from a rookie like this, but George looks like a great bet to take another major leap this season after a successful rookie campaign. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Keyonte George played his only collegiate season at Baylor, where he averaged 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.3 three-pointers per game on his way to Big 12 Rookie of the Year honors. George was also an All-Big 12 Second Team and Big 12 All-Freshman Team selection. George scored in double figures in 23 of 33 appearances for Baylor, topping out with 32 points, to go with seven rebounds, in a win over West Virginia on Jan. 11. George reached the 20-point mark 11 other times on the season, including in games against Norfolk State (Nov. 11) and Kansas State (Feb. 21) when he rained in a career-high six three-pointers. As a high-schooler, George was considered a top-10 prospect and a consensus five-star recruit. A true combo guard who could play both backcourt spots in the NBA, George is a bit of a tweener at 6-foot-4, but his athleticism and body control allow him to create space and get his shot off against bigger defenders. George is an excellent scorer off the dribble, capable of getting to the rim with either hand while also using footwork to generate space. George was a hot-and-cold three-point shooter at Baylor (33.8% 3PT), but he shot nearly 80 percent at the free throw line and projects as a plus floor-spacer at the next level. Like most mid-to-late-lottery prospects, George will require some development, but the tools are there for him to develop into a starting-caliber combo guard in the NBA. In a best-case scenario, George could develop into an All-Star-level talent such as Bradley Beal or Jamal Murray.

Iffy against Brooklyn

Ankle
December 20, 2024
George is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Nets due to a sprained ankle, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
George appears to have suffered his ankle injury during Thursday's win over the Pistons but was still able to log 33 minutes. If George is downgraded to out against Brooklyn, Isaiah Collier, Jordan Clarkson and Patty Mills are candidates to receive increased playing time.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
George will enter his first season in the NBA as one of the more intriguing prospects from this class. He spent one year at Baylor prior to being drafted, averaging 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.3 three-pointers per game. He backed up his impressive college stint with a standout performance at the 2023 Summer League. Across six games, he averaged 18.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.8 three-pointers in 26.4 minutes per game. He turned more than a few heads, putting himself on the standard league radar before a ball had even been bounced. The Jazz are certainly not loaded when it comes to viable point guard options. Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson are likely to get the first look at the role, although neither are true point guards. If George is able to build off his strong preseason, he could see an uptick in playing time sooner rather than later. He isn't worth drafting outside of deeper formats but could be a sneaky addition, should he land the starting role at some point.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Struggling in several areas
GUtah Jazz
December 3, 2024
George has been struggling in several areas across the board during his second year in the league, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune believes.
ANALYSIS
George has been struggling mightily with his shot, making just 37.5 percent of his field goals and 33.6 percent of his threes, but his struggles don't end there, according to Larsen. The second-year Jazz guard hasn't inspired confidence as a ball-handling point guard and doesn't shoot well enough to be a full-time shooting guard, so it's hard to determine what his long-term role will be. The 21-year-old has all the time in the world to improve, but he's been taking a step in the wrong direction regarding his development over the last few months.
