2025 Fantasy Outlook
A one-and-done freshman at Duke, Maluach earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors with averages of 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 21.3 minutes per game. A lengthy, rim-running big man, Maluach shot 71 percent from the field and 77 percent from the line. The Suns were overjoyed to select him with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and they view him as a long-term building block that will be capable of playing some rotation minutes right away. The Suns acquired Mark Williams from Charlotte on the same night, and he's projected to start and see minutes in the high 20s to lower 30s. That means Maluach may have to settle for a role with minutes in the teens to open his NBA career, but it does allow the team to be patient with him. To do that, he'll have to outperform Nick Richards and Oso Ighodaro, and that won't be a given. While not a re-draft target, Maluach is an intriguing dynasty asset. That said, if the oft-injured Williams misses time at any point this season, the rookie center could be a hot commodity on the waiver wire. Read Past Outlooks

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Bulking up ahead of rookie campaign
Maluach confirmed that he's put on some weight over the summer as he prepares for his first NBA season, Duane Rankin of AZ Central reports.
ANALYSIS
"I added a little bit of weight, I'm like 263 now, 262," said Maluach after the team concluded the first practice of training camp Monday. "I've been here the whole summer. That kind of helped me out, too, with it. It hasn't really been lifting weights, weights. It's just like developing and getting strong from like the base. Just working on my weak spots, whether it's my hips, my knees, my quads and my upper body." Mark Williams will be held out of the preseason opener as a precaution, which presumably means Maluach will get his fair share of opportunities to acclimate to NBA speed in the team's preseason opener Friday against the Lakers and likely throughout the preseason.
