Moody posted several career-high marks across the board in the 2023-24 season, where he logged 8.1 points and 3.0 rebounds across 17.5 minutes per game in 66 regular-season appearances, including nine starts. Moody was expected to compete for minutes in the backcourt following the departure of Klay Thompson to the Mavericks, but the presence of Brandin Podziemski, D'Anthony Melton and Buddy Hield complicates the scenario for him. Even if he's deployed as a small forward, Moody starts the season behind Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson on the depth chart, not to mention scenarios in which Hield could play the three. All things considered, Moody shouldn't play a role in fantasy across all formats, as he might not see enough minutes to be a factor even in the deepest of leagues. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Even in what was a pandemic-shortened season for many schools in 2020-21, Moody started all 32 games for the Razorbacks and led the team in both scoring (16.8 ppg) and three-pointers made (58). That scoring mark was good for third in the conference, with his 539 total points checking in as one of the 20 best in the nation. With plenty of capable scorers on coach Eric Musselman's revitalized Arkansas program, however, Moody was never asked to completely take over a game (though he did reach a season high of 28 points on four separate occasions). After Moody and the Razorbacks finished second to Alabama in conference play, the 6-6 wing was ultimately named SEC Freshman of the Year, along with getting first-team all-SEC honors. Moody then reached double figures in all four NCAA Tournament games before falling to eventual National Champions Baylor in the Elite Eight.

Moody contributed nine points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and one steal over 13 minutes during Wednesday's 118-112 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS Moody returned to the starting lineup for Wednesday's matchup but was handed a small workload in comparison to the other members of the first unit. Despite only 13 minutes of action, he was efficient on the offensive end and crashed the glass for his best mark of the season in rebounds. Moody is averaging 10.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists over his last five appearances.

2021
After two underwhelming seasons in the NBA, Moody could finally be ready to take the next step. He has played 11.7 and 13.0 minutes per game in each of his first two years, affording him very little opportunity to showcase his ability on the court. The addition of Chris Paul and Cory Joseph, as well as a healthy Gary Payton, will complicate things for Moody. However, of Joseph and Payton, he is the one with the most upside, especially on the offensive end. While the sample size to this point is very small, what we have seen is enough to keep managers interested, especially if the Warriors opt to lean a little more on their youth at any point throughout the season.
Moody played a limited role during his rookie season but should see increased playing time in 2022-23. With Gary Payton and Damion Lee out of the picture, Moody figures to be an every-night part of the rotation, something he was not during 2021-22. Initially, he is not a player to target outside of deeper formats. However, the Warriors will likely manage their veterans throughout the season, opening windows of opportunity for Moody to slide into a more significant role. He could present as a viable streaming consideration if and when that happens.
One of the Warriors' two 19-year-old lottery picks, Moody joins Jonathan Kuminga on a roster that's both built for the future and simultaneously hoping to contend for a championship. Moody is coming off of an impressive freshman season at Arkansas, where he averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game while shooting nearly 36 percent from three. Moody and Kuminga will each contend for a spot in the regular rotation, but with veterans Andrew Wiggins, Otto Porter, Nemanja Bjelica and Andre Iguodala in place, both rookies could have difficulty garnering enough minutes to help fantasy managers. Moody's best chance to contribute could come early in the season while Klay Thompson, who's expected back in late-December, is still working back from injury.

Could sign new deal soon
FGolden State Warriors
October 19, 2024
Moody appears likely to sign an extension with the Warriors before Monday's deadline, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
ANALYSIS The Warriors have been negotiating with both Moody and Jonathan Kuminga over the last few months. While the talks with the latter haven't been productive, it seems Moody is "much more likely" to sign a new deal, according to Charania. Moody averaged 8.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game across 66 regular-season appearances in 2023-24.
