2025 Fantasy Outlook
Marshall's debut season with the Mavericks went really well, with the forward posting multiple career-highs across the board. Across Marshall's 69 regular-season appearances, including 31 starts, he averaged 13.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.9 three-pointers in 27.8 minutes on 50.8 percent shooting from the field. He managed a top-150 finish in standard nine-category leagues on a per-game basis, making him a solid pickup off the waiver wire. The Mavericks dealt with a ton of injuries over the course of the season, and Marshall benefited by filling in at multiple positions. A repeat performance in 2025-26 might be wishful thinking, however. Anthony Davis is expected to be 100 percent by Opening Night, and the Mavericks selected Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Mavericks will roll with those two as their starting forwards, leaving Marshall as the second forward option off the bench behind P.J. Washington. Marshall has certainly earned a role on this team, but he's a tough sell in fantasy when his usage and minutes are about to take a major hit. Read Past Outlooks
Steady production Monday
Marshall chipped in 15 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal over 36 minutes during Monday's 140-133 overtime loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old forward has scored at least 15 points in six of seven games since moving into the starting lineup for the Mavericks. Marshall's consistent contributions extend beyond his offense, and during that stretch, he's averaging 15.7 points, 3.9 boards, 3.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.1 threes in 32.7 minutes a contest while shooting 64.3 percent from the floor. Dallas is also 5-2 during that time, so coach Jason Kidd isn't likely to shake up his rotations while they seem to be working, though Marshall could move to the bench once Daniel Gafford and Anthony Davis (calf) are healthy at the same time.

After four years with the Pelicans, Marshall signed a three-year deal with the Mavericks and will likely be a key bench piece. He ended the 2023-24 season as the 266th-ranked player, averaging 7.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 0.9 three-pointers in 19.0 minutes per game. He should see a similar role in Dallas, albeit with the potential to play slightly more on a nightly basis. He is a great plug-and-play option for the Mavericks, with the ability to fill several roles on both ends of the floor. However, as we have seen throughout his career, that is unlikely to translate into sustainable fantasy value. With that said, an opportunity could present itself at some point during the season, if and when injuries befall those ahead of him in the rotation. Marshall is not worth drafting in standard formats but is worth adding to your potential streamers list.

Trade candidate to monitor
Marshall is a trade candidate to monitor ahead of the deadline, Evan Sidery of Forbes.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Marshall is "viewed by rival teams as a realistic trade target for contenders, if the Mavericks indeed pivot to a rebuild midseason," Sidery said. Marshall makes less than $10 million annually through the 2026-27 season, making him an affordable option for contending teams. The Mavericks are 4-11 and could tear down their roster to better fit Cooper Flagg's timeline, and it's already been widely reported that Anthony Davis could be the first domino to fall.
