Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Baldwin was born on Nov. 18, 2002, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Baldwin played basketball for Hamilton High School in Sussex, Wisconsin. During his freshman year, he was part of their 2017-18 team that made the state championship, losing to Oshkosh North. He made a name for himself as a junior, averaging 24.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, earning Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year honors. During the second game of his senior season, Baldwin suffered a season-ending ankle injury but was still named to the rosters for the McDonald's All-American Game, Jordan Brand Classic and Nike Hoop Summit. Baldwin was a consensus five-star recruit and ranked as the fifth-best prospect by ESPN.com. On May 12, 2021, he committed to playing under his father at Milwaukee, becoming the highest-ranked recruit to ever commit to a Horizon League program. He was also the youngest person ever to receive an offer to play at Duke, receiving the offer in his sophomore year of high school. Early into his college career, Baldwin suffered a leg injury in a loss to Bowling Green, forcing him to miss several games. As soon as he came back, lightning struck twice and he suffered an ankle injury on Jan, 5, 2022, in a 63-49 win against Green Bay. Even when he came back from injury on Feb. 4, 2022, he could never regain his rhythm and ended up sitting out for the rest of the season for undisclosed reasons Baldwin averaged 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game as a freshman in an injury-plagued season. On April 22, 2022, Baldwin decided to declare for the 2022 NBA draft, forgoing his remaining college eligibility. He was selected with the 28th overall pick by the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Draft.
ANALYSIS Baldwin was dealt to the Wizards by the Warriors, along with Jordan Poole, in exchange for Chris Paul this offseason. The second-year forward will likely compete for a depth role in Washington but will cede some Summer League opportunities to other young players on the roster Saturday.

In running for rotation spot
FGolden State Warriors
October 5, 2022
Baldwin has impressed the coaching staff throughout the offseason and could be pushing for a spot in the Warriors' wing rotation, Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS "I'm really excited about him," coach Steve Kerr said Sunday after the rookie put together a strong preseason performance against the Wizards. Baldwin, the 28th overall pick in the 2022 draft, has a lot of veterans ahead of him on the depth chart, but his length, skills and basketball IQ have stood out in camp.
A one-and-done out of Milwaukee, Baldwin was selected with the No. 28 pick in the 2022 Draft by the Warriors. In college, the 6-foot-9, 231-pound forward averaged 12.1 points on 34/27/74 shooting, 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 combined steals-plus-blocks, though he played just 11 total games. Clearly, efficiency and shot selection are issues. He's also a below-average athlete, which affected him significantly on both sides of the ball in college, so how will he adjust to NBA quickness and physicality? He has a smooth shot, however. That could keep him alive on an NBA court, and he has enough ballhandling competence to run some plays and get to a mid-ranger. Still, it would be a surprise if Baldwin played meaningful minutes for a Golden State team coming off a title.
