Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Dozier was born Oct. 25, 1996 in Columbia, South Carolina, where he attended high school at Spring Valley. After being named 2015 South Carolina Mr. Basketball and scoring 14 points in the 2015 McDonald's All-American game, Dozier elected to spend his collegiate career at South Carolina. It was the same school chosen in the 1980s by his father, Perry Dozier and his uncle, Terry Dozier. Dozier also has two sisters, Amelia and Asia, the latter of which attended South Carolina, as well. While attending USC, Dozier majored in sport and entertainment management. You can follow him on Twitter (@Dozier_Kid). Dozier was third in the SEC in three categories -- field-goal attempts (469), two-point field goal attempts (328) and steals (60) -- in the 2016-17 season for South Carolina. Also in that season, the Columbia, South Carolina native was fifth in the SEC in steals per game (1.7). Along with field-goal attempts and two-point field goal attempts, Dozier led the Gamecocks in assists per game (2.8) and total assists (101) while ranking second in points per game (13.9) and total points (501). He helped lead the Gamecocks to the Final Four of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Dozier entered the 2017 NBA Draft after his sophomore season with South Carolina. He went undrafted and signed with the Los Angeles Lakers during the summer.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
The 24-year-old's season was somewhat injury-filled, but he also showed signs of improvement as well. Dozier was forced to miss 15 games early in the season due to a hamstring injury, but the 6-foot-6 guard returned to his role as a reserve guard for the team. However, that role completely changed when Jamal Murray went down with his ACL injury. After averaging 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 19.8 minutes per game prior to the injury, Dozier saw his playing time and scoring rocket up. The South Carolina product averaged 11.0 points in 28.5 minutes per game while starting in his last six appearances with the team before going down with a groin injury. This injury kept Dozier out for the rest of the season, but the guard should be ready for the new year. While Jamal Murray will most likely be sidelined to start the year, Dozier still faces lots of competition for playing time. Players like Monte Morris, Will Barton, Austin Rivers and Facundo Campazzo will be vying for minutes in the absence of Murray. The team also has youth talent in Markus Howard and Nah'Shon "Bones" Hyland at guard. The team's impressive depth at guard and Dozier's inconsistent play make him one of the harder players to trust this year in fantasy formats.

Dozier might get an opportunity to continue his career with the Knicks, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS The 26-year-old guard played limited minutes in 16 games last season for the Kings after recovering from ACL surgery, but he didn't appear to be back in his pre-injury form. Dozier could provide the Knicks with some gritty and affordable backcourt depth if he's 100 percent again after putting the surgery further behind him.
