ANALYSIS
Achiuwa's 13 boards were a game high, and this was his fourth game in January with at least one steal and one block. His minutes fluctuate with the matchup, so he's not much more than a rebounding specialist in deep leagues. Through 16 games in January, Achiuwa has averaged 8.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.

After an impressive stint with the Knicks following a midseason trade, Achiuwa will return to New York after being signed for another year. At one point during the 2023-24 season, Achiuwa started 18 consecutive games for the Knicks, averaging 12.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.8 blocks in 36.5 minutes per game. That's especially relevant, given Mitchell Robinson will be sidelined through at least November. New York made a surprising move right before training camp, sending Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to Minnesota in exchange for Karl-Anthony Towns, who'll be the Knicks' starting center. In theory, Achiuwa is the most qualified to begin the year as the primary backup center, though it's possible coach Tom Thibodeau will give Jericho Sims a chance since he's a more traditionally-sized center. Even if that's the case, Achiuwa should still have a consistent reserve role. Ultimately, Achiuwa could make for an interesting late-round dart throw, but not one projected to have season-long value.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Happy with new role
Achiuwa is happy to have the opportunity to play at power forward with the Kings, according to Stefan Bondy of The New York Post. "This is how I've always played. All throughout high school, college. First couple years in the league in Toronto, that's how I played. Mainly playing the 4 position, which is my natural position," Achiuwa said. "And that's how I had a lot of success my first year in New York."
ANALYSIS
Achiuwa has started in all but one of his last 16 appearances and has looked comfortable playing at the four, averaging 7.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a combined 1.9 steals-plus-blocks across 21.9 minutes per game in that stretch. The sixth-year veteran has played at least 28 minutes in each of his last four games, so he's making the most of his opportunity, although he's likely to return to a secondary role once Keegan Murray, who's dealing with a left ankle sprain, returns to the hardwood around early February.
