Following a disappointing season in Boston, during which he played just 41 games, Mykhailiuk was picked up by the Jazz in the offseason, signing a four-year deal. Despite this being a more favorable situation, it is unlikely Mykhailiuk will be utilized on a nightly basis, at least not to begin the season. A noted sharpshooter, Mykhailiuk provides Utah with another floor-spacing option on the wing, something that should at least keep him in the discussion for rotation minutes. There is no reason to consider taking him in fantasy drafts, even in deeper leagues. However, should the Jazz shut it down at any point, Mykhailiuk could be a viable three-point streaming option should he carve out a consistent role. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk was born in 1997 in Cherkasy, Ukraine. He is the son of Inna and Iurri Mykhailiuk. His mother is a high school biology teacher and his father is a college history professor. "Svi" is fluent in three languages: Russian, Ukranian and English. He Attended high school at Cherkasy First City Gymnasia, and in addition to basketball, he also lettered in soccer and ping pong. Before playing college ball at Kansas, Mykhailiuk played for Cherkaski Mavpy in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague from 2012-14. He was also a member of the Ukrainian national team at the 2014 FIBA World Cup. While at Kansas, Mykhailiuk was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 award winner. Also, he was 17 years old when he started playing at Kansas, which made him the youngest player in Big 12 history. Mykhailiuk was one of the most successful development projects that coach Bill Self had at Kansas. The 6-foot-8 guard improved in each of his four seasons as a Jayhawk from 2014-18. He opened his career as a starter on a team with Perry Ellis and Frank Mason but became a reserve after five games. Mykhailiuk started hitting three-pointers as a sophomore, even though his playing time did not increase significantly on another loaded Kansas team. By his junior season, he started 25 games and hit 39.8 percent of his three-pointers on his way to averaging 9.8 points and 3.0 rebounds. Mykhailiuk scored in double digits in four of his last five games, including 18 points in a Big 12 tournament loss to TCU. As a senior, the Ukrainian was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team after averaging 14.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He also scored at least 20 points in 10 games. The Jayhawks advanced to the Final Four, and Mykhailiuk had 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the Elite Eight win over Duke. He set a school record with 115 treys during his senior season and was selected 47th overall by the Lakers in the 2018 NBA Draft.

August 9, 2024
Mykhailiuk agreed to a four-year, $15 million contract with the Jazz on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS Mykhailiuk has bounced around the league in recent years, but he's landed a multi-year deal with Utah. He made 41 regular-season appearances with the Celtics last year and averaged 4.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game. He should provide depth for his new club during the 2024-25 season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2019
2018
When Mykhailiuk plays his first game with Toronto next season, he will don his fourth different jersey in four NBA seasons. The 6-foot-7 wingman closed the 2020-21 campaign in promising fashion, averaging 16.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.3 three-pointers over his final four contests, but his overall numbers were mostly in line with his previous body of work. Of concern, his efficiency from three-point range -- Mykhailiuk's bread and butter -- dropped from 40.4 to 33.4 percent, and his output consequently dipped from 2.1 to 1.6 treys per game. Mykhailiuk could emerge as a low-end source of points and threes if he's able to increase his playing time with the Raptors, but he's more of a wait-and-see player than a draft-day target in fantasy.
The 2018 second-rounder finished his rookie season with 3.2 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists across just 10.5 minutes in 42 appearances for the Lakers and Pistons. He played a deep bench role, and didn't make much of an impact in his limited run. The Kansas product shot just 32.9 percent from the floor and 32.6 percent from three, displaying the same worrisome shooting that hampered him in college. His best bet for minutes will come on the wing at small forward, but he'll face stiff competition from Sekou Doumbouya, Luke Kennard and Tony Snell. Mykhailiuk is unlikely to see a boost in minutes in his sophomore season, making him avoidable in most fantasy formats.
Mykhailiuk was selected 17th overall in Round 2 of the 2018 NBA draft after spending four years at The University Kansas, where he broke in his final season, averaging 14.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Mykhailiuk had a strong run at the 2018 NBA Summer League, where he averaged 15 points, 1.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game while proving himself as an athletic wing even against tougher competition. Mykhailiuk’s shooting percentage was a bit of an eyesore in college at 42.8 percent, but he did post an impressive 47.5 in the summer league. Being tutored by future Hall Of Famer Lebron James can’t hurt as Mykhailiuk continues to develop his game from an NBA bench.

Could head back to Europe
GBoston Celtics
June 6, 2024
Mykhailiuk is being linked with a potential return to Europe ahead of the 2024-25 season, according to Johnny Askounis of Eurohoops.
ANALYSIS It seems Mykhailiuk has been around forever, but that's because he spent four years at Kansas and then has played six seasons in the NBA. He's only 26 years old and about to enter the prime of his career, so he'd be an excellent option for Euroleague teams looking to bolster their perimeter offense with an accomplished shooter. Mykhailiuk has had stints with the Lakers, Pistons, Celtics, Thunder, Raptors, Knicks and Hornets throughout his career in The Association.
