Jackson-Davis had an inconsistent role with the Warriors during his rookie year but showed flashes of his potential across 68 regular-season appearances, including 16 starts. The Warriors often changed their starting unit, impacting Jackson-Davis' upside. However, he was a decent fantasy option when starting, averaging 10.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.6 assists across 24.6 minutes per game, including the Play-In Tournament. It seems the Warriors may unleash Jackson-Davis into a consistent starting role in his sophomore year, though there's a scenario in which he'll still come off the bench, with Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green in the frontcourt. Jackson-Davis doesn't have an established role and is a bit rough around the edges offensively, so his fantasy upside is limited again. He might be a solid waiver pick-up -- depending on the matchup and the league format -- as the season progresses, but he should be left on waivers in most standard drafts unless he secures a starting spot during the preseason. Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Trayce Jackson-Davis played college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers over the last four seasons. In his redshirt junior campaign in 2022-23, he averaged 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.9 blocks in 34.6 minutes per game. For his efforts, he was voted as a consensus First-Team All-American, Naismith Men's Defensive Player of the Year 2023 Semifinalist, All-Big Ten First Team, and All-Big Ten Defensive Team. Jackson-Davis finished his career at Indiana not only as a two-time captain but also third in Hoosiers' history for career points (2,258) and first in career rebounds (1,143) and blocks (270). Before college, the big man played at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana. There, he was named a 2019 McDonald's All-American and Gatorade Indiana Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Jackon-Davis also won the gold medal for the United States at the 2018 FIBA Under-18 Americas Championship. Jackson-Davis has impressive mobility and athleticism for a center. He can dominate the paint on both ends, scoring with various post moves and erasing opponents' shots at the rim. He runs the floor hard and can pick up easy points in transition or by getting to the free-throw line. Jackson-Davis is more than a capable and willing passer out of the post. Jackson-Davis will likely be an undersized center at the next level who can boost a team with his energy and activity. His ability to block shots while staying out of foul trouble should allow him to be a positive defender in the NBA. Jackson-Davis has a similar play style to Montrezl Harrell and Brandon Clarke, with a relentless ability to finish inside and rebound with larger bigs.
