2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Blazers originally had the No. 11 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft but moved back to No. 16 after a trade with Memphis and selected Hansen, who was a late riser after impressing for the Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association. The rookie turned 20 years old a day after being drafted and is viewed as a project; however, Hansen possesses unique skills and instincts for a 7-foot-1 center. Portland moved on from Deandre Ayton this offseason, paving the way for Donovan Clingan to be a full-time starter. Veteran Robert Williams is also still on the roster, but given his injury history, the Trail Blazers will likely be cautious and deploy him in a restricted reserve role. Hansen will be a wild card in Year 1. He may have to spend extended time in the G League, but he has the potential to be a consistent contributor. Fantasy managers should keep close tabs on Hansen during training camp and preseason, but he probably shouldn't be taken in the top-200 picks during standard drafts. If he's not part of the regular rotation to begin the campaign, Hansen's fantasy value will hinge on how competitive Portland is. The Trail Blazers haven't won more than 40 games or made the playoffs since 2020-21, but their 36-46 finish in 2024-25 was their best mark under head coach Chauncey Billups. If Portland falls out of the playoff picture again, there could be plenty of developmental minutes on the table for Hansen during the final weeks of the 2025-26 campaign. Read Past Outlooks

Done for Summer League
Hansen (rest) won't play for the rest of the Las Vegas Summer League, Danny Marang of 1080 The Fan Portland reports.
ANALYSIS
Hansen turned a lot of heads during Summer League, as he might be a player who can contribute right away for his team once the 2025-26 campaign gets underway. The No. 16 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft finished with a strong outing July 16 against the Pelicans, putting up 15 points to go along with three rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks.

Could see steady minutes in 2025-26
Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups said that Hansen is "definitely going to play" in his rookie season, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The No. 16 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Hansen is considered a project heading into his rookie season. However, the 7-foot-1, 253-pound center is expected to compete for a steady role after impressing in Summer League play, where he averaged 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 blocks in 24.5 minutes per game across four appearances. According to Quick, the big man has also been working to add weight to his frame this offseason. The 20-year-old has a chance to serve as Donovan Clingan's primary backup, as Robert Williams has yet to be cleared for contact. Over 45 games with Qingdao in China during the 2024-25 campaign, Hansen averaged 16.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.
