Sports betting in North Dakota remains illegal after two bills didn't make it through legislature in 2019. There hasn't been a huge push for sports betting in the state and that's unlikely to change in 2020.
According to the current gaming laws, sports betting falls under participation as a gambler, which is a crime. The first route for legalized sports betting will likely come through tribal casinos and little has changed on that front since PASPA was repealed in 2018.
Otherwise, Daily Fantasy Sports are allowed and horse racing betting is legal in the state. No regulations have been enforced in regards to fantasy sports in North Dakota, which is why sites like DraftKings and FanDuel continue to operate. For now, DFS will operate as a game of skill and that's unlikely to change.
