The Grizzlies
announced Saturday that Morant has been diagnosed with a posterior hip subluxation (without dislocation) along with associated Grade 1 pelvic strains following an MRI and is considered week-to-week.
ANALYSISMorant suffered the injury in Wednesday's win over the Lakers, when he exited the contest after falling hard to the floor while attempting to finish off a lob with a dunk. The Grizzlies won't take any risks with the health of their star point guard and will give him all the time he needs to recover and get back to 100 percent, so while a specific timeline for his return hasn't been provided, he could end up missing multiple weeks. Expect
Scotty Pippen -- who posted a triple-double in the win over the Wizards on Friday -- to continue starting at point guard while Morant is sidelined.
