Funny that 24 hours ago, I thought Denver was the biggest favorite among the remaining teams and that there was no way Pittsburgh in its third game on the road would beat them in Mile High's thin air. Hindsight is 20/20, but watching that game, it was hard not to wonder how Denver got to where it did. Their offense is okay, but who are you really afraid of - Jake Plummer, Mike Anderson, Rod Smith, Ashley Lelie? Big Ben is better already than Plummer ever was, Hines Ward is younger and more of a playmaker than Smith is these days and Willie Parker is Tatum Bell without the fumbling problem (though he nearly put one on the ground today). You never got the feeling that Denver's offense had the capacity to come back even when they scored to make it a 10 point game. Or maybe Pittsburgh's defense is just playing that well - while the Denver game doesn't let Manning off the hook, if the Steelers drill Seattle, at least the storyline makes more sense. Speaking of which - I agree with Pianow on the message board - a pick 'em is where I'd set the line right now - and I'd probably take the Steelers - don't want to underestimate Seattle as I have in the past, but I don't think they're nearly as battle tested.
