Masters Notes

If you are in a fantasy league where you can set your lineup daily (such as Yahoo!) be wary of players paired with Tiger Woods. According to this Wall Street Journal story, players play about a half to a full stroke worse when in his group.

Also, Tiger seems likely to win this year's event. He's never broken 70 in the first round of the Masters (0-for-15). But he shot 70 in the first round of three of his previous wins - as he did Thursday.

That being said, has there ever been a player headed into a major that's had less hype after having won the last two majors than Padraig Harrington? I know he hasn't done much lately (no top-10 since February), but he's 15th and just four shots off the lead (after the first round). He seems to be lying in the weeds.

Also, what are the odds we'll see one of my favorite sports quirks broken this week? No player has shot all four rounds under 70 at the Masters.
