Ron Santo Elected To Hall Of Fame

Baseball's Golden Era Committee has elected former Chicago Cubs 3B Ron Santo to the Hall of Fame.

The Golden Era Committee of the Hall of Fame is comprised of Hall of Fame players and executives. A total of 16 individuals comprise the overall committee. The group is charged with voting for golden era players and team executives from the years 1947-1972 for election to the Hall of Fame. 12 votes are required for election to the Hall. Santo received 15 of 16 available votes.

Ron Santo played 14 seasons with the Cubs and one season with the Chicago White Sox. He had a .277 lifetime batting average. Santo appeared in 9 All Star games.
