Headed to UConn

June 6, 2023
Spencer committed to UConn on Tuesday, joining the program as a graduate transfer from Rutgers, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports.
ANALYSIS
Upon entering the portal May 19, Spencer became one of the more sought-after wing players available. After beginning his career at Loyola Maryland in 2019-20 and spending three seasons with the program, Spencer made the jump to Rutgers in 2022-23 and served as a 34-game starter for the Scarlet Knights, shooting 43.4 percent from behind the arc last season while averaging 13.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 31.5 minutes per contest. The 6-foot-4 guard should settle into a starting role for the reigning national champions following the departures of Adama Sonogo, Jordan Hawkins and Andre Jackson for the 2023 NBA Draft.
