Smith announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Arkansas to enter the 2023 NBA Draft.
ANALYSIS
Though he didn't quite meet the sky-high expectations often foisted on consensus five-star recruits, Smith showed enough during an injury-plagued true freshman campaign to justify making the leap to the NBA. While starting 14 of his 17 appearances, Smith averaged 12.5 points, 1.7 assists, 1.6 rebounds, 1.4 three-pointers and 0.8 steals in 25.8 minutes per game, but he shot just 37.6 percent from the field. The 6-foot-5 guard could still hear his name called in the draft lottery if he impresses during the pre-draft process.
