Maryland wanted to add Miguel immediately following his portal entry. UMD's immediate interest and Miguel's relation to NBA player and Terrapin alum Bruno Fernando, the Terps got their man. Miguel has a legitimate chance to be part of their starting lineup. And even if he does not win out, he has experience operating a primary backup role. With South Florida's 2023-24 team, he was a unanimous selection for the AAC's Sixth Man of the Year Award.
