Thomson was released by the Lions on Wednesday, 3DownNation reports.
ANALYSIS
Thomson only suited up for one regular-season game for B.C. prior to his release, so the Lions will move forward with Antonio Pipkin as the only healthy backup to starter Michael O'Connor (undisclosed) for the time being. Once the newly-acquired Vernon Adams (elbow) is activated from the injured list, Adams could take over as the starter for B.C. if he can manage to stay healthy going forward. It's unclear if Thomson will garner any interest from other CFL teams now that he's a free agent.
