Tommy Stevens

Outstanding as rusher in finale
October 31, 2022
Stevens completed four of five passes for 32 yards and a touchdown and rushed four times for 163 yards and another score during the Stampeders' 36-10 win over the Roughriders in Week 21.
The 25-year-old CFL rookie saw his most extensive action as a traditional quarterback in the finale and connected with Jalen Philpot for a nine-yard touchdown pass with 7:00 minutes remaining for his first pro scoring toss. However, the highlight of Stevens' night was when he put his elite rushing ability to use and ripped off an 85-yard touchdown run with 38 seconds remaining in the first half, the longest rushing play of the entire 2022 season league-wide. Stevens could enjoy his usual goal-line role in Sunday's Western Semi-Final against the Lions.
