Billy Bowens

Bowens’ 2022 campaign was indicative of the Boise State offense in its first season under Andy Avalos’ leadership. He was second on the team in receptions and yardage, and tied for the lead in touchdowns. However, he finished with 32 catches for 462 yards and four scores. In five different games, out of the 14 the Broncos ended up playing, Bowens had only one reception. Now, the receiver did say he injured his hand in the opener and dealt with the pain all season, culminating in offseason surgery. Maybe that means he’ll be better in 2023, but this is an offense built around the run game. Even quarterback Taylen Green’s greatest strength is running the ball. Could Bowens get over 500 yards in a healthy campaign? Sure, but his ceiling is not all that much higher than that. If you are looking for fantasy upside in Boise, you should be looking to the run game. Read Past Outlooks
