2023 Receiving Projections
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Thomas snagged 31 passes for 361 yards and five touchdowns last season at LSU, but appears primed for an even bigger role in 2023. The Tigers have championship aspirations with Heisman dark horse Jayden Daniels at quarterback, as well as a stable of capable running backs. Leading receiver Malik Nabers returns, and the 1,000-yard receiver figures to get a lot of attention from opposing defenses. However, the Tigers lost their other two top wideouts from 2022 in the form of Kayshon Boutte and Jaray Jenkins, leaving a void for someone like Thomas to fill. Thomas finished second on the squad in receiving touchdowns last year, and faces limited competition for opportunities besides Nabers this time around. Only Kyren Lacy and Alabama transfer Aaron Anderson look like legitimate contenders for targets. Meanwhile, at 6-4, Thomas has the size to become even more involved in the red zone. An uptick in production could be on the horizon for Thomas as a junior in 2023. Read Past Outlooks

Explodes in loss
Thomas accrued seven receptions (on nine targets) for 142 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 45-24 loss against Florida State.
ANALYSIS
The junior surprisingly exploded in the loss, as highly touted teammate Malik Nabers managed six catches for just 67 yards. Thomas and quarterback Jayden Daniels connected on a 75-yard touchdown, which accounted for nearly half of the yardage total for Thomas, though. He did score five times last year, but maintained largely a complementary role through his first two collegiate seasons. This could be a sign of things to come, and a step down in competition versus Grambling State should also yield ample opportunities.
