Byron Cardwell

Cardwell took over in the backfield once the game was out of hand and certainly made the most of the opportunity, ultimately leading the Aztecs in rushing yards while punching in a 20-yard touchdown, his first of the year. While Cardwell likely remains behind Lucky Sutton and Christian Washington on the depth chart, the senior could see his role grow after his performance Friday. Cardwell joined San Diego State as a transfer this offseason following stints at Oregon and Cal.
