Monster game in win
October 20, 2022
Peoples rushed 23 times 168 yards and two touchdowns in Wednesday's 42-17 victory over Georgia State.
ANALYSIS
Peoples has seemingly taken over the lead role in Appalachian State's backfield, as he logged 23 carries to Nate Noel's 15 Wednesday. Peoples will look to rush for over 100 yards in three consecutive appearances next Saturday versus Robert Morris.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
Peoples eschewed the 2021 NFL Draft for a chance to further improve his stock in 2022. While he was outgained on the ground by fellow Mountaineer running back Nate Noel last season, Peoples has established himself as a vaunted goal line threat with a nose for paydirt (14 rushing touchdowns last year to Noel’s four). If he continues to receive those pivotal red zone touches (and he should, as he has four inches and 30 pounds on Noel), he is a solid fantasy option. Peoples is also helped along by the fact that the Mountaineers could be relying on the ground game more in 2022, with three senior receivers from last season being lost to graduation.
Peoples was splitting carries with Daetrich Harrington early in the season but after Harrington got injured, People literally ran with his new opportunity, finishing the year with 1,168 yards and 12 touchdowns. His 6.69 YPC average ranked fourth among rushers with at least 150 attempts. Harrington is expected back and App State added Notre Dame transfer Jahmir Smith, but Peoples should still be the 1A in the Mountaineer backfield after such an explosive 2020. His value takes a hit in PPR formats, however, as he caught just three passes on four targets last season.
