2025 Receiving Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Burks will run it back with the Sooners for his fifth collegiate season after having his 2024 campaign cut short due to a concussion. In five appearances, he racked up 31 catches for 245 yards and three scores, and he was on track to build on an impressive 2023 season with Purdue, when he caught 47 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. Given his past production, Burks looks like the de facto number one wideout for John Mateer's first season under center with Oklahoma. Mateer threw for 3,139 yards and 29 touchdowns last season with Washington State, where he played under new Oklahoma offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle. If Burks can stay healthy, he should be in line for a monster 2025 season. Read Past Outlooks

Back at practice
Burks (undisclosed) resumed practicing Monday after dealing with an injury early in fall camp, Ryan Aber of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
Burks battled through injury during the 2024 season and seemed to be tending a minor injury throughout spring practice and early into fall. His return to the field indicates he should be ready to go for the upcoming season-opener against Illinois State and will surely aim to bounce back from the 31 receptions for 245 yards and three touchdowns he totaled last year.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
A transfer from Purdue, Burke recorded 47 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He averaged 13.4 yards per grab in 2023. The leading receiver from last year's squad, Drake Stoops, is gone, though Nic Anderson returns the fold. Perhaps more importantly, though, the Sooners lost starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel to the transfer portal. Jackson Arnold steps into the spotlight after passing for 365 yards in the Alamo Bowl at the tail end of last year. However, Oklahoma also moves to the SEC this season, which could result in tougher opposing defenses and a much more difficult schedule overall. Nevertheless, Burke should be frequently targeted this season as more of a possession option.
