274 passing yards in loss
Pyne was 29-for-36 passing for 274 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 34-20 loss against Cincinnati.
ANALYSIS
The Falcons ended up losing by two touchdowns to the Bearcats, but Pyne still put together a solid performance. The redshirt senior finished the game with 274 yards, which was a huge improvement from last week's 109. He also dished out his first passing touchdown of the season to Jyrin Johnson in the third quarter. Pyne will look to put together another solid performance and hopefully convert it into a win versus Liberty next week.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
After Notre Dame’s regular-season loss to USC in 2022, coach Marcus Freeman made a decision to give Tyler Buchner a chance to return from injury to play in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. Pyne abruptly quit the team prior to the bowl game and entered the transfer portal, eventually landing with the Sun Devils. Pyne joins a crowded quarterback room in Tempe, and a starting job is far from certain. Blue-chip freshman Jaden Rashada had an excellent spring camp and grabbed most of the headlines, but BYU transfer Jacob Conover, Trenton Bourget, and redshirt freshman Max Clark are also on the roster, New head coach Kenny Dillingham will have some tough decisions to make after fall camp commences in August. Over 11 games as a starter in 2022, Pyne threw for 2,021 yards with a 22:6 TD/INT ratio. He also helped Notre Dame topple Clemson, North Carolina and BYU, going 8-2 to finish the regular season. He has all the skills to be the starter and shows an impressive football IQ, although his arm lacks the strength that Rashada seems to possess. Although conventional wisdom suggests that Pyne’s experience and previous success should earn him the starting job, the depth chart will remain in flux until Dillingham names the front-runner.
