Catches on with Southern Miss
March 7, 2023
Southern Miss announced Dec. 21 that Edwards signed with the program as a transfer from Houston.
Edwards enrolled at Southern Miss ahead of the spring semester and has already begun competing in practices with the Golden Eagles, with head coach Will Hall noting that the 6-foot-3, 210-pound signal-caller is set to battle with returnee Zach Wilcke and Clemson transfer Billy Wiles for the starting quarterback job heading into the fall. Edwards, who arrives at Southern Miss with two years of eligibility to use, spent two years with the Houston program after transferring in following a two-year stint at JuCo program East Central Community College. He appeared in just one game during his time at Houston, attempting no passes and carrying once for minus-2 yards.
