Michael Redding

One of many former four-star recruits, Michael Redding has shown flashes for the Miami Hurricane without finding consistency. He offers adequate size to provide the ‘Canes with an outside option they have desperately needed, and new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson offers a clean slate for this unit, while also highlighting an air raid system, possibly presenting a chance for Redding to emerge. But he’s struggled with drops in the past, snagging just 15 of his 29 targets last season. Redding was quiet throughout the spring, seemingly barely cracking the two deep with Colbie Young and Xavier Resrtrepo seemingly locked in, and Jacolby George emerging with speed in space. The Hurricane also continue to be tweaking their roster, and new additions and subtractions can’t be ruled out prior to August. It’s go time for Redding as this seems like a make or break season for him, and someone is going to emerge in this passing attack. For now, Redding doesn’t seem to be at the forefront of that opportunity.
