Discussing a hypothetical where Georgia is without both Nick Chubb (knee) and Sony Michael (arm), coach Kirby Smart "especially pointed" toward Crowder as a potential replacement, DawgNation.com reports.

Conventional wisdom singled out Elijah Holyfield and Brendan Douglas as the top candidates to see snaps behind Chubb and Michel, but Crowder has evidently made the most of his reps since redshirting last year. Crowder doesn't have much recruiting pedigree -- Georgia only offered him a scholarship when another presumed recruit bailed on Georgia around 36 hours before National Signing Day -- but for now the 6-foot-3, 220-pound runner is within realistic reach of an early-season role. He remains more relevant to the Bulldogs offense than any fantasy football scenario, however.
