Ends football career
February 6, 2023
Kenion announced Dec. 8 that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at South Carolina and retire from football, Evan Crowell of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kenion was fourth on the depth chart at tight end for much of the 2022 campaign, but had he not ended his career early, he likely would have had an opportunity to play a pivotal role in South Carolina's eventual 45-38 loss to Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl on Dec. 30 with the Gamecocks' top two tight ends during the regular season (Jaheim Bell and Austin Stogner) both entering the transfer portal. During his four years with the program, the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Kenion compiled seven catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns.
