Kevin Magnussen

Haas F1 Team
Denmark
2023 Fantasy Outlook
The Danish driver had difficulties finishing in the points during the latter half of the 2022 season after starting off strong with three Top-10 finishes in the first four races. But alongside Haas' many mechanical issues last year- leading to five different DNFs out of 22 race starts for Magnussen- the driver of the No. 20 found it difficult to continuously outperform his younger teammate Mick Schumacher following the summer break. Despite his performance struggles, however, a wet qualifying session at the Brazil Grand Prix brought Magnussen (and Haas, by extension) his first-ever pole position in Formula One, and a moment to be remembered fondly in the years to come. Magnussen urgently needs a good season going into 2023, both for the sake of his own confidence and for the benefit of his team; with any luck, Haas will have remedied the issues with the VF-22 that plagued the Dutchman throughout the 2022 season and Magnussen will be able to put up some good points for the team this year. Tyre Gambit in Canadian GP
Formula One
June 10, 2024
Magnussen finished 12th in the Canadian Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Magnussen would start 14th on the grid but opt for wet tyres for the opening stint as a steady light rain fell during the opening laps of the grand prix. The veteran Haas F1 driver would be rewarded as he would quickly pick off spots and race up to P4 by lap 6. He would then pit on lap 7 to change tyres as the track was quickly developing a dry line. Magnussen would fall back to P14 once again and begin his drive back forward. He would grab a couple positions late at the expense of Valtteri Bottas and Yuki Tsunoda to cross the finish line 12th at the checkered flag.
