2023 Fantasy Outlook
After a rough start to his 2022 season, Hamilton found more challenge in competing with his teammate than the Red Bulls last year, going without a single win for the first time since joining Formula One despite finishing on the podium a total of nine times. The Mercedes engineers were hard at work attempting to fix an aero issue on Hamilton's W13 for most of the season, and the driver of the No. 44 claims that the bouncing of the car served as a major roadblock between the Brit and finishing first-place. Regardless, last year was Hamilton's first year finishing behind his teammate in the points (Lewis coming in sixth, with George Russell finishing fourth) since the same happened in 2016 with Nico Rosberg. The 2023 season will be a big year for Hamilton if he wants to make another push for the world title, with a championship run only possible if Mercedes is able to provide a car without the previous season's detrimental issues. Track Limits Penalty
Hamilton finished eighth in the Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Marina Bay Circuit on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
After starting sixth on the grid there was reasonable hope Hamilton could challenge the Top 5 Sunday in Singapore. However, the seven-time world champion would drop a spot on the opening lap to his teammate. Hamilton would race up to fifth-place when his lap 24 pit stop occurred. The Ferrari star would rejoin P8 and look to be in reasonable shape. However, he would be noted by stewards for track limits after the checkered flag and would slip from P7 to P8 due to the 5-second penalty applied. Hamilton will look to rebound next time out at Circuit of the Americas.
