2023 Fantasy Outlook
One of the more interesting driver moves in the midfield comes as Gasly makes the switch from Alpha Tauri to Alpine. Gasly entered Formula One in 2017 and has had stints at Toro Rosso, as well as the primary Red Bull team. His move to Alpine takes him out of the Red Bull structure and gives him an opportunity to start with a fresh slate. Alpine finishing fourth in last season's Constructor's standings compared to Alpha Tauri's ninth is also a nice attraction for him. Gasly said he is approaching his start with Alpine differently from his first outings with Red Bull and has a much clearer view of what he needs to be competitive, which he hopes will help him finish higher in the order. He finished in the top 10 six times last season and only tallied three DNFs. This season's opportunity with a faster car under the new rules package should be a boost for him early in 2023. First Points Since Belgium
Gasly finished 10th in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Interlagos Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
It's been a long, brutal summer for both Alpine racers. However, Gasly was able to find a good setup and some speed this Sunday in Brazil. The veteran driver would advance to Q3 and grab a ninth-place starting spot on the grid. Gasly's two-stop strategy and on-track battles in the mid-field would shore up that good track position. He would race up to P7 just prior to his final stop of the day. Gasly would pressure Nico Hulkenberg in the closing laps but couldn't complete that overtake. His P10 finish rewarded the team with his first points since Belgium in late July.
