What is a fantasy baseball auction draft?
In a fantasy baseball auction draft, each team gets a set number of virtual dollars (typically $260). Participants take turns nominating players to bid on, and everyone has 10 seconds to place a higher bid. With each new bid the clock resets, giving others an opportunity to raise their bid. The nominated player lands on the fantasy team that ultimately submits the largest auction bid.
This is different from a snake draft, where each owner is given a set position in the draft. There is a lot of strategy involved in both formats, but the benefit of an auction league is that every owner has a chance to buy any player they want basing their bid on fantasy baseball auction values.
