2025 Fantasy Outlook
Through five seasons as Buffalo's kicker, Bass has never been worse than 16th at the position in fantasy scoring but has just one instance finishing better than ninth. He's converted no fewer than 24 and no more than 28 field goals each season, along with 48-59 PATs, playing 83 of a possible 84 regular-season games since entering the NFL as a sixth-round pick in 2020. There were some rumblings of dissatisfaction after Bass missed three kicks during the 2023 playoffs, but he rebounded with a solid season in 2024, including a perfect record in three postseason games. Bass thus remains locked in as the kicker for an elite team, albeit in a PAT-heavy environment that makes him a passable fantasy option rather than a top-notch one. Read Past Outlooks
Busy night in preseason debut
Bass converted three of four field-goal attempts and made both extra-point tries in the Bills' 23-19 preseason win over the Buccaneers on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
Bass had missed the Bills' first two preseason tilts due to a pelvic injury, but the veteran kicker looked to be in midseason form in his first game action of any kind since January. Bass connected on attempts from 37, 37 and 39 yards before misfiring on his shortest try of the night, a 26-yarder late in the fourth quarter that he missed wide right. Chris Brown of the team's official site reports head coach Sean McDermott confirmed Bass was limited to a distance of 48 yards in his first game back, but added that the coaches would "continue to bring him along this week." Given Saturday's performance, Bass looks set to reprise his fantasy-friendly role as the Bills' placekicker beginning with a Week 1 Sunday night home showdown against the Ravens.

Bass may not be the most popular guy in Western New York after three missed field goals in two playoff games last season, but he's generally performed well since the Bills drafted him in the sixth round in 2020, converting 84.9 percent of field-goal attempts and 97.6 percent of PATs. The numbers look better when you consider he has one of the toughest home stadiums for kicking and plays in a division without any domes. Bass is now entering the first season of a four-year, $20.4 million extension, but his fantasy prospects are less exciting after 15 kickers outscored him last year and the Bills lost their top two WRs in the offseason.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Restructure candidate
Bass might have his contract restructured before the beginning of the season, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old kicker has dealt with a pelvis injury in training camp, but unlike last offseason, Bass's job is in no jeopardy after a strong 2024 campaign in which he went a perfect 4-for-4 in field-goal attempts from 50 yards or longer while setting career highs in PAT volume, connecting on 59 of 64 attempts over 17 regular-season games. Restructuring Bass's current contract would save Buffalo a crucial $1.59 million as the team struggles to get under the salary cap.
