Martinez was in camp with the Lions after signing with Detroit as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas State in April, but he was cut in late August. The Texans have decided to get a closer look at the mobile quarterback, though the best Martinez could realistically hope for in the short term is a spot on the practice squad, as the Texans already have three quarterbacks on the roster in C.J. Stroud, Davis Mills and Case Keenum. Stroud was limited in practice Friday due to a shoulder injury.
