2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Packers took Daniel Carlon's younger brother in the sixth round last year and were pleased with the early results, but Anders hit a mid-season slump after making all his kicks Week 1-5, ultimately finishing with an 81.8 percent conversion rate on field goals and 87.2 percent on PATs. The rookie then missed an extra point in the first round of the playoffs and a 41-yard field goal in the second round, and the Packers subsequently signed kickers Greg Joseph and Jack Podlesny in the offseason. Whoever wins the job should have at least some degree of fantasy relevance, as Green Bay's offense was one of the best in the league during the second half of 2023 and is stocked with talented, young players. Job in jeopardy following loss
Carlson went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and missed his lone extra-point attempt during the Jets' 19-9 loss to the Rams on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Carlson missed his only extra-point try of the game late in the first quarter following the Jets' 14-play, 99-yard drive that ended with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams. Carlson made a 21-yard chip shot as time expired in the first half, but his 49-yard field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter missed wide right, and it was a crucial miss as it prevented the Jets from reducing the deficit to one score. Sunday's loss could've been Carlson's last game with Gang Green, as head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Monday that the Jets are going to explore their options at kicker this week, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. The Jets don't have a kicker signed to the practice squad, but they will likely add one ahead of their Week 17 matchup against the Bills on Sunday.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
The Packers finally appear ready to move on from Mason Crosby after using a sixth-round pick on Carlson, who converted 71.8 percent of FGAs and 98.3 percent of PATs in five seasons at Auburn. That's not especially impressive, but he does have a strong leg and is the younger brother of the Raiders' standout kicker Daniel Carlson. First, Carson must win the job in training camp, as the Packers also have 2022 UDFA Parker White on the roster. Carlson is the favorite, but even if he wins the job he'll be attached to an offense facing major questions with Jordan Love taking over at QB and a pass-catching corps comprised almost entirely of rookies and second-year players.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Behind Joseph early in camp
Carlson is lagging behind Greg Joseph in Green Bay's kicking competition, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Joseph has made 29 of 31 field-goal attempts in portions of training camp open to reporters, while Carlson has connected on 25 of 31 kicks. Carlson also struggled down the stretch in his rookie season, missing a kick in nine of Green Bay's last 12 games, including the playoffs. Special teams coach Rich Bisaccia believes he can help correct Carlson's accuracy issues after the kicker's older brother Daniel Carlson took off under Bisaccia's tutelage with the Raiders, but the team's patience could start to run thin if Carlson's unable to course correct during the preseason.
