Granger (undisclosed) worked out with the Commanders on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Granger was cut loose by the Panthers in May after reaching an injury settlement with the team. The tight end now appears to be fully past the undisclosed injury that he was dealing with, and he'll look to find another opportunity before the end of the season. With Zach Ertz (knee) done for the year, it's possible that Granger could provide the Commanders with an additional body at tight end for practice.

Gets NFL opportunity with Panthers

Granger, who played Division 1 basketball at three different schools over five seasons, signed with the Panthers on Monday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-8 prospect logged time on the hardwood with Ohio, Western Carolina and Coastal Carolina during his college days, but he'll now give football a try. The fact Granger was five years removed from high school made him available to any team as a free agent. The Panthers, who've long had a need at tight end, decided to take a flyer on Granger after veteran offensive lineman George Fant, himself a former college basketball player, endorsed the idea to head coach Dave Canales and general manager Dan Morgan.
