2023 Projections
2022 Fantasy Outlook
Asiasi suited up for just one regular-season game in 2021, logging just 11 snaps on offense and zero targets. His lone appearance corresponded with the one-game absence of fellow tight end Jonnu Smith. The 2020 third-rounder is signed with the Patriots through the 2023 season, as is Dalton Keene, who also was a third-round choice in 2020. However, neither of the two pass catchers will be on the fantasy radar as long as both Smith and Hunter Henry are healthy and available. Read Past Outlooks

Healthy scratch for Week 18
Asiasi (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Asiasi is a healthy scratch for the Bengals' regular-season finale. Over his previous seven appearances, he's played 132 offensive snaps, but he's caught only two of three targets for five yards during that stretch. Mitchell Wilcox and Hayden Hurst, who'll be making his first appearance since Week 13, will be Cincinnati's only available tight ends with Asiasi inactive.

Jerry Donabedian thinks K.J. Osborn's impressive performance could lead to more targets over the final three weeks of the season.

Will DJ Chark or Jameson Williams be the top downfield threat for Detroit's potent offense down the stretch?

DJ Chark could offer short-term relief for those in need of a Week 14 starter, while rookie teammate Jameson Williams makes more sense as a bench stash for playoff-bound teams.

2020
Asiasi, who the Patriots took 91st overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, finished his rookie season with two catches on seven targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in nine games. Meanwhile, fellow first-year tight end Dalton Keene caught three passes for 16 yards in six contests. It was hardly the production the Patriots were looking for when they used a pair of third-round picks to secure the duo, a notion underscored by the team's aggressive pursuit of Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith in free agency this offseason. Following the addition of the duo, it's hard to see a path to reliable volume for Asiasi in 2021.
